What We Do
We Provide:
Tracing a Baby's Resting Place - We research and trace the resting place of babies who were stillborn or died soon after birth..
Last Wish Request - A special service for parents who have been diagnosed as terminally. We are sometimes asked to take on requests at short notice so that the person can receive information and possibly visit their baby's grave before their death. Our hope is that,
this service will aid a bereaved parent in a more peaceful death.
Support & Care - We support bereaved parents through the journey and for as long as is need. We have two trained bereavement councillors on our team for anyone needing a little more support.
Certificates (Unofficial) - In 2016 a story line on Coronation Street, when a baby had died 23 weeks gestation, found us inundated with enquiries. .As a baby at 23 weeks gestation is not legally classed as a stillbirth, we didn't want to send families away with nothing. A decision was made to create special certificate to acknowledge the life of babies born to soon. We can issue on request one of our special certificates of Birth, Life, Birth & Death. See our resources page for some examples
Graveside service - We are often asked by families as to whether we know of a vicar or non-religious celebrant who can say a prayer, some special words or a memorial service at their baby’s grave.
We have put together a database of people across the UK who have offered their services and are proud to announce that there is an ever growing number of people offering their help. To date we have had over five hundred offers of help from across the UK.
Newsletters - Family newsletters Twice a year - Early March & Early September. our newsletters include: family stories, poems and a roll call of our babies names. Further newsletters sent out between as and when their is news to share.
Website Memorials - Online memorial page named "We Remember" where families can on request have a memorial for their baby.
Facebook (General) - Including an opportunity to add a baby's name for Mother's Day, Father's Day, Babyloss Awareness, Christmas and Birthdays in our monthly Remembrance post.
Facebook (Private for parents only) - A place for our parents to connect with other parents and talk about their babies,
All the services we offer are free, however any donation you feel you would like to make would be gratefully received.
Remembrance Book for Military Babies & Children
A remembrance book was established in July 2004 and is available to anyone who has had a baby or child buried at Aldershot Military Cemetery or to anyone who has a connection to the British Armed Services. The remembrance book is and will always be a permanent dedication to all our precious babies and children, whether the cause of death was stillbirth, neonatal death, cot death, illness or accident.
The remembrance book is homed at the Royal Garrison Church of All Saints, Aldershot, Hampshire. The book was donated by Aldershot Garrison and the cabinet in which it is homed was deigned and made with funds donated by the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst. Making an entry is free, however any donations you feel you can make towards the cost of calligraphy will be gratefully received. If you feel you would like to enter your child's name in the remembrance book, please feel free to contact us.
